Celebrated Yoga Teachers and Influencers Adopt .yoga Domains

Yoga Alliance, Ana Forrest, Elena Brower and Suzanne Bryant top list of .yoga Pioneers

SANTA MONICA, California, March 30, 2015 /PRNewswire/ --

Minds + Machines has attracted a group of major yoga influencers to become pioneers of the newly launched .yoga top-level domain. Suzanne Bryant, Elena Brower, Ana Forrest, and Yoga Alliance will all be introducing new .yoga websites featuring the .yoga ending in the coming weeks, with Suzanne Bryant's YI.yoga and Elena Brower's teach.yoga already live.

Suzanne Bryant, filmmaker, yoga and meditation teacher, and wellness expert, is best known for her film YOGA IS: A Transformational Journey that traces her meetings with yoga gurus and teachers in the west as well as her travels to India to explore the power of this ancient practice. Through YI.yoga, Suzanne is now letting people gain further insights from a sphere of leading teachers online. YI.yoga will also be home to the very first online yoga conference, featuring online interviews with renowned yoga teachers and influencers around the world, followed by online 30-minute classes open to all.

Suzanne Bryant stated, "I was lucky enough to have heard about .yoga last year and so when I approached Minds + Machines to work with me on my new online yoga conference, they were happy to sponsor the event. I am excited to be integrating technology with this new concept of creating the largest conference, so naturally .yoga was a great partner. The advice and support they've given me has been invaluable, particularly about naming choices and the many exciting business opportunities that .yoga will bring."

Elena Brower, who is participating as a featured yoga influencer in the YI.yoga conference, is a renowned teacher, author, speaker, and mother who has embraced the practices of yoga and its benefits. Elena has created a new vision for the online space with teach.yoga, as a way to give back to the global teaching community that has supported her previous offerings, such as the crowd-funded first edition of her book, Art of Attention. Teach.yoga will be an expansive, evolving virtual home for teachers worldwide, providing illuminating context and content for their learning and life. This will be a new place for yoga teachers to gather and connect online to share, learn, listen, and grow as a collective.

Elena said, "It's a privilege for me to introduce teach.yoga to the yoga teaching community. The virtual spirit of collaboration amongst yoga teachers is stronger than ever, and to have such a simple, potent address will keep us all connected and inspired. Now we can watch how the release of new .yoga websites will inspire our friends across the globe to create, redesign and refocus their efforts both in their studies and projects."

Another celebrated teacher, Ana Forrest, has registered a number of .yoga domains to secure her name and to create a new vision online. Anaforrest.yoga will be a special site in celebration of Ana's forty years of teaching. It will demonstrate the evolution of Ana and Forrest Yoga over the years.

Charlie Speller, Commercial Director of Forrest Yoga, said, "Ana Forrest has been a pioneer in modern yoga for the past 40 years so we're excited to be working with Minds + Machines as a pioneer of this new domains program. Forrest Yoga is accessible to 'every body' - it's a powerful, therapeutic and life-changing practice that helps thousands of people across the globe every day - and it's important to us that our online presence reflects that. We're thrilled to be revamping our website and bringing something captivating to Ana's online community in celebration of her 40 years of teaching and evolving Forrest Yoga."

Separately, Yoga Alliance, the largest nonprofit association representing the yoga community, has partnered with Minds + Machines and also registered their .yoga domains to put alongside their existing site. The Yoga Alliance mission is to promote and support the integrity and diversity of the teaching of yoga. Minds + Machines offers discounts on registration for .yoga domains to Yoga Alliance members and will donate 5% of the proceeds to the Yoga Alliance Foundation. Yoga Alliance Foundation supports and promotes education and research by securing grants and donations.

Charlotte Raich, Business Development Manager of Yoga Alliance said, "We are proud to present Yoga Alliance as a pioneer for .yoga. We are pleased with the opportunity to expand our digital footprint and connect with and support the yoga community."

Antony Van Couvering, Chief Executive Officer of Minds + Machines, commented, "Yoga is a large and growing phenomenon practiced worldwide. It's fantastic to see it grow into something that's reachable online, anywhere and anytime. .yoga opens up exciting avenues for businesses and teachers, as well as communities of yoga practitioners around the world. All of our pioneers: Suzanne Bryant, Elena Brower, Ana Forrest, and Yoga Alliance are visionaries in their work and I am proud to have their names and visions next to .yoga."

Domain names in .yoga are now available to the public. To register a name within .yoga, go to http://www.mindsandmachines.com/yoga or contact any leading registrar.
